Flight confirmation – you‘re probably looking forward to the moment of the flight. Hot air balloon flights are completely dependent on weather conditions, however, we constantly monitor forecasts and try to inform customers about flight options 24 hours before the flight. However, on the day of the flight, we will contact you again to discuss important details and options. Sometimes the moments you dream of having to be postponed, and sometimes the weather is generous and you can fly the next day.
Meeting – as the moment comes, be sure to organize your day‘s schedule so that you won‘t be late and arrive at the designated meeting place at the right time. If the flight is in Trakai, usually we pick you up from the meeting place and take you to the starting point, so be sure to arrive on time and do not be late.
Take-off location – each flight is unique, so the take-off location is carefully chosen by the pilots depending on the weather conditions and wind direction. At the take-off area, passengers are instructed, a hot air balloon is prepared for the flight – all of this takes up to 30 minutes.
Flight – at last it‘s the time to experience the joy of the flight. Relax, enjoy, experience, capture those moments – one hour is going to pass soon, and only the memories will remain. Before landing, the pilot will inform you again about the rules for a safe landing.
Landing – as the sun goes down, the wind calms down so usually, landings are calm and gentle, but sometimes there may be „harder landings“, be sure to follow the pilot‘s instructions. As you have landed, the ground team will arrive, we will be packing the ballon and if you wish – we will gladly include you in the process.
Farewell – it‘s almost time to say goodbye, but only after the special „signing in“ ceremony, drinks, and fun stories. After the flight, we will take you back with our transport to the primary pick-up place.
Flight schedule
Hot air balloon flights are organized all year round, of course, if meteorological conditions allow doing so. However, the busiest flight times are from April 15th until October 15th.
In summer, balloons are usually flown in the morning (5.00 – 9.00) before the thermal starts (vertical air currents) and in the evening (18.00 – 21.00), when the thermal calms down.
In autumn – spring the morning flights start a little later (8:00 am), and the evening flights earlier (16:00).
During the winter season, when the cold strikes in, we can also fly during the day.
A balloon flight takes about an hour on average, but the whole procedure (with flight preparation, instruction, balloon assembly, etc.) takes about 3-4 hours.
